To fix it I discovered by simply changing your time zone and rebooting your computer fixes the problems. Some how the XP service packs created this bug. The bug issue seems related to the setting of your regional time zone not being identified correctly by Winfax. I had these problems on every computers I have Winfax 10.02 on. ![]() As every Symantec software, WinFax Pro 10 is provided with LiveUpdate, the internet enabled software extension that’ll check the net to retrieve potential. Winfax Pro 10.02 and later versions may still have problems integrating with some programs but I found a simple fix for the problems of adding phone book entries and changing other settings that would abort when trying to implement them. WinFax Pro 10 supports the GSM phones: so when you received a fax you can setup WinFax to alert you by sending a SMS message to your portable phone. I discovered one additional step that did. Symantec did issue a detailed fix for problems with XP SP1 but then they stopped supporting Winfax. ![]() Microsoft and Symantec never really did figure out which program had the bug. Winfax Pro ver 10.02 and later worked great with XP before service pack updates were introduced. ![]()
